G.P.Deshpande has rich experience of managing and growing the Semiconductor business and responsible for the Gross Profit of the company. Distribution Contracts with new Semiconductor vendor to complement the current product line and grow the Semiconductor business. Strengthen the Product Sales and Field Application Engineer team. Offer Design and Engineering Service through Application lab for Power supply (SMPS) and Industrial /Lighting market segments. Bring in new technical alliances and participate up the value chain of the product. His current focus is to develop and grow business of Product lines with strategic importance and establish strategic alliance with leading Design houses, ODM partners and Operators to support advance consumer / telecom convergent products to explore huge potential of next generation convergent gadgets. He is currently based at Bangalore, India.
 
Prior to his Prior to his current responsibility he was working for Philips Semiconductors – Division of Philips India Ltd. India, as a Sr. Manager - Consumer & Multimedia Segment. Leading a team of Regional Sales Managers and an Application Laboratory to support and customize the product. Establishing excellent relationship with leading customers, achieved higher Sales targets year on year, with more than 30 Million US$ during last assignment. He was the first one to establish Software Application Laboratory in India to offer complete system solution for Color Television Industry to incorporate “On Screen Display & Remote Control” for Color Television. Successfully launched “Ultimate One Chip” combining analog and digital world into a One Chip TV design for India and achieved more than 60% market share. Launched several customized embedded products for the leading Color TV Manufactures in India. A key role in promoting a high tech platform “Nexperia” for STB market in India.
 
Prior to Philips Semiconductors, He was working as a Design Engineer and developed Programmable Logic Controller for Industrial applications. And As Production and service Engineer for a company manufacturing Industrial motor control, Temperature Control and Power Electronics.
 
Deshpande launched his career at Industrial Electronics Equipment Corporation, Mumbai, India in 1981. He joined Advance Micro Systems, Mumbai, India in 1982. He then joined Phillips India Ltd, Mumbai, India in 1983. He held various positions at Phillips India Ltd, Mumbai and left Phillips India Ltd as Senior Manager in 2005. While at Phillips, he was responsible for successfully establishing some of the best global brand names in the India and Asian markets. He was responsible for Market Analysis, Strategy Consultation, Business Cases, Business Plan, Long Range Plan & Annual Operating plan & AOP Deployment per region, Value proposition to customers, Co-ordination with Lab & Business lines on Projects
 
Deshpande holds a Master’s Degree in Physics (Electronics) from Mumbai University, India and have obtained his D.E.R.E from St. Xavier’s Technical Institute, Mumbai.
